Don’t Worry, We Got Your Back (& other areas)

Our staff at CRPM understands that untreated pain can interfere with your immune system causing discomfort to the body, difficulty exercising, and increase psychological distress causing rise to many other problems. If left untreated, chronic pain especially neuropathic pain (nerve pain), can become severe and very difficult to treat. Our team aims to provide the best care for managing pain and the techniques it uses to help alleviate body discomfort. Below are some reasons why pain management and its techniques are useful tools for treating neuropathic pain.

Its immense variety of techniques are useful to:

  • Identify sources of patients pain (back, neck, or shoulders)

Some techniques for nerve pain management:

  • Physical Therapy
    • The most common techniques that do not involve medication is physical therapy where we practice manual techniques such as applying force to joints and muscles.
    • Behavioral modification is another non-drug technique where we teach patients relaxation and coping techniques to slowly alleviate pain.
    • We also help patients manage pain by using heating and cooling techniques for the skin with cold pack, hot packs, and ultrasound.
    • Electro-therapy is also commonly used to electrically stimulate nerves and muscles to block the transmission of pain signals sent to the discomforted area.
  • Pain Medication
  • Techniques involving Injections
    • Injections and blocks are techniques mainly use for neck and back pain.
    • Injections are used for direct delivery of steroids or anesthetic into the joints, ligaments, and muscles for temporary relief.

CRPM physicians and staff are not only here to educate and help our patients to the best of our abilities, we also aim to help patients adopt and maintain a healthy overall lifestyle.

There are numerous causes in relation to nerve pains from acute, trauma, to chronic illnesses. Common symptoms of neuropathic pain like uncontrolled diabetes, vitamin deficiencies and alcoholism are often ignored until they become debilitating. Ultimately, it’s going to affect more than just the pain. It’s going to affect the way tasks are performed, interactions with others, and patients overall wellness. With the support from the CRPM staff along with adopting healthier lifestyle changes,  physicians can treat pain before it becomes severe and patients can prevent new pains from emerging.
