5 Tips To Stay Active During Cooler Winter Weather

Don’t let the winter-brisk air stop you from your everyday fitness routine. There are actually a multitude of options for cooler weather fitness. 1. Walking

Walking is a great way of incorporating exercise into your daily routine. Spice up your walking routine by taking a jaunt through a hay bale or corn field. Don’t have that in your neighborhood? Consider taking long walks to through the city or state park, forests, recreation areas, trails and wildlife reserves, and hiking trails. If the weather isn’t very nice to walk outside, consider taking a stroll through you local mall. Aerobics, belly dancing, zumba, hip hop, funk, and even boxing classes; the list goes on! The gym offers much more than simple pilates and yoga classes these days. Every gym offers its own unique list of classes geared towards all fitness levels.  Take advantage of the gym membership that you pay each month and consider signing up, but don’t forget to actually show up to the classes of your choice.

For those who are less mobile, Youtube and Amazon is your best friend. The beauty of working out at home is that you can access workout videos at anytime. There are various different exercises geared towards those with arthritis, diabetes and osteoporosis, as well as general balance, stretching and aerobics.

5. Indoor Sports League 

If the traditional basketball and volleyball leagues aren’t your style, consider joining a dodge ball, inner-tube water polo, and bowling or even ping pong team. Indoor soccer and flag football leagues are also available to get you back on your workout mode even during the cold seasons.
